DAY 1 – ARRIVAL

Arrival at lunchtime at Shannon Airport, Mini-bus transfer to Killaloe where you will be ferried by cruiser to Bunglasha  Lodge.  With a ‘hot toddy’ on board the cruiser, arrive at the Lodge to a true Irish welcome.  Take time to settle in, absorb the warmth and comfort of your luxurious surroundings, with Guinness or Whiskey at the bar, where the drinks are complimentary.    Enjoy a log & turf fire which greets you on arrival, and tuck into Killaloe tea and scones.

Angling experts have described the water of Lough Derg as ‘exceedingly rich’. The largest Pike ever recorded anywhere in the World, weighing 94 lbs, was captured here in 1892, off the shores of Holy Island within view of Bunglasha Lodge. It was 6 feet long and stories told tell us that it fed a local family for a week.

Fishing can begin when you arrive, either from the shore or on one of our many boats which will be ready for you.  If you would like some expert ghillie advice just let us know in advance and we will arrange that also.

Traditional Irish Dinner will be served that evening by our House Chef, a choice of Dinner can be pre-selected.  Pre-dinner drinks may be served on the terraces overlooking Lough Derg, and on exceptionally fine evenings, dinner outside. Enjoy a pint of Guinness from our well stocked Bar, or perhaps an Irish Whiskey or two before retiring to bed.

DAY 2

Full Irish Breakfast, prepared by our Chef, served to you at pre-arranged time, in preparation for a fine day’s fishing in one of the local lakes.

Mini-bus transfer from Bunglasha to Lough Bridget – 50 acres in size and is only one of a string of lakes which embrace the countryside of East Clare.  This lake is particularly good fishing for Tench and there are good shoals of Rudd with some at 2 ½ lbs.  It also holds good stocks of Bream, Pike & Perch.  Fishing stands available and boats provided, it is your choice. Very good general coarse fishing using all methods and baits.

Packed Lunch will be provided so, you can have an uninterrupted day of fishing.  If you prefer to visit Lough Graney, Doon Lake or any other lake and numerous rivers in this area just let us know and we will take you there.

After fishing, enjoy the atmosphere of one of our local traditional Irish Pubs and visit Teach Ui Bhriain at Tuamgraney for dinner, renowned for its delicious Steaks. Meet the locals and enjoy the music and craic for the evening, and discuss best fishing locations. Return to Bunglasha Lodge by Mini-bus.
